URBAN – not rural, country-fied or entrenched in conservative-ish tradition; new and cutting edge yet realistic; of or pertaining to a city versus a place that looks and feels like “the stix.”

GYPSY – a cool, hip, non-conformist, non-traditional person who wears lots of layered clothes, dangly jewelry & black eyeliner; a mystical, magical woman figure (sorry, guys) who is powerful yet wise, electric yet at peace; a natural female performer  who can, by the mere sway of her curvy hips, create an enticing dance of intense rhythm and beauty.

URBAN GYPSIES – a group of slightly average yet slightly amazing, dance-inclined  women who get together to learn dances, talk, laugh, go out for drinks afterwards and, when the opportunity presents itself, show off said group dances in a public performance event.  Voila!

DISCLAIMER:  although both this definition and my dance company currently do not include men, both are open to future involvement with both male performers and male gypsies.
